No I’m not dead

I’ve been saying it before but the posts are getting further and further apart. I’ve been meaning to write earlier but I always end up doing something else. Not really any meaningful things but you know… gotta find the energy to write something as well. Nothing in particular going on. Working 100% starting tomorrow. Hope that goes well. Will be a long day, 8am to 10pm as I was invited to watch a soccer game between Elfsborg and IFK Norrköping after work. Which means I’ll be heading to bed right away after finishing this post.

It’s been a good weekend albeit feeling a bit too short. An additional day off would have been great. Just not doing anything. But I guess I’ll have to save that for next weekend. I watched a good movie yesterday called The Age of Adaline. For some reason I often put off watching movies when I’m alone as I much prefer to watch TV series because it’s more easy to digest and it doesn’t take up as much time. Had nothing to do yesterday evening though so I decided to watch this one.

Michiel Huisman and Blake Lively as Ellis and Adaline

Michiel Huisman and Blake Lively as Ellis and Adaline

It’s about a woman whose body stops aging after being involved in a car accident. Her car leaves the road and ends up submerged in water and her body temperature lowers and her heart stops. All of a sudden thunder strikes and she’s brought back to life, only to find out that she’s not aging anymore. This leads to a lot of problems as I’m sure you can predict, and actually it is quite a predictable movie. But it doesn’t matter as it is really well played, her memories as well as current events really hits your heart. It’s basically a romance drama with a scifi twist to it. I didn’t know Blake Lively could act this good but she positively surprised me. Other actors include Michiel Huisman and Harrison Ford, the former which you might recognize from Game of Thrones and well, the latter needs no introduction. If you want to watch a feel good movie with some touching moments I can thoroughly recommend it. Like I said, quite predictable and nothing amazing but it definitely sets itself apart from the crowd at least. It’s also cute and I guess I’m weak for movies where the characters reminisce.

Also managed to finish Mr Robot. The show got me really curious during the first few episodes but then halted a bit and didn’t really pick up and got interesting again until the last 2-3 episodes. It’s also one of those shows who screws with your head a bit as it can be hard to keep track on what’s going on. Kind of like American Psycho where you don’t really know if everything’s real or if it only goes on in the main character’s head. This one you watch firstly for the characters but then also because it can be quite exciting at times. Some parts feel like they’re underdeveloped though or just don’t get enough time or aren’t that interesting. But the core theme and especially the character of Elliot are worth watching the show for.

Ok so yeah, better head to bed as tomorrow’s gonna be a long day. Hope you’ve had a good weekend as well and take care y’all! Hugs~~

What a lovely, lovely weekend! Perhaps not as ecstatic as the last but truly one that I enjoyed and that gave me lots of energy and peace. I feel that I’m getting to grips with my life again. I can’t stress how good that feels. For those of you who do not know how it is to live with anxiety and panic disorder I’ll let you in on a secret. When it’s got its hold on you, you can’t really ever relax. You’re always tense, always prepared for things to go wrong. So it feels like heaven to be able to enjoy things again and not think about all the bad things. Really.

This weekend I’ve been enjoying the weather since it’s been absolutely awesome. Been out biking a lot. Hung out with Sonja and Lars watching a movie (Spy, funny but too long) and talking about things that matter. Also hung out with my best buddy Andreas, playing one of the episodes in the game Tales from the Borderlands. Recommended if you like those episodic, interactive movie kind of games. Today I’ve been cleaning the apartment, went to see Elinore, her apartment and her lil kitty Bernard. Also saw mom & dad for a short time. Feels like I’ve filled the weekend with lots of good stuff and I don’t even feel stressed about it. And not much of it was planned, just spontaneous things. I think that’s the recipe for a good life for me.

Oh and I’ve been watching this TV show called Mr Robot. Not sure that I’ve mentioned it. I think I have. But it’s really good. It’s a bit hard to get into but it grows on you for every episode. These last two episodes that I’ve watched (7 & 8) have been really gripping. Can’t wait to watch the final two this week. If you like Halt & Catch Fire I’m pretty sure you’ll like Mr Robot. Also, I’ve been recommended two movies that I’m looking forward to watch. The Age of Adaline and Me and Earl and the Dying Girl. Both feel like my cup of tea exactly. Might be something for you too?!

Now I’ll leave you with some photos from my weekend. I’m off to listen to some podcasts and enjoy some sleep. Tomorrow’s Monday. Better be rested for yet another good week! 🙂
